Day 1 

Arrive in Venice and Venture to the Idyllic Hilltop Town of Asolo

Arrive in Venice, where you will retrieve your rental car and drive to the charming hill town of Asolo in the foothills of the Dolomites and check into your centrally located hotel

Day 2

Free Day to Explore Asolo, one of Veneto’s Best Kept Secret

​

Free day to relax and enjoy the region of Veneto, offering so much to see and do! A day trip to Bassano for Grappa, Villa Sandi for wines or Marostica, which features a chessboard-resembling town square

Day 3

Learn about Vincenza’s Famous Architecture and Rich History

​

Drive to Vicenza for detailed private sightseeing of the city that was home to the architect Palladio. Perhaps stop at Montecchio Maggiore, the castle that belonged to Juliet's family in Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet or Soave to sample the region's local white vintages. Reach Verona to check-in at your lodgings

Day 4

Fall in Love with the Beauty of Verona

​

Detailed private sightseeing to the legendary open-air Roman amphitheater called Verona’s Arena, and which hosts the Arena (operatic) Festival. Also of interest are Piazza delle Erbe, the marble pedestrian street of Via Mazzini and Juliet's House with its famous balcony. Free time now to shop, relax and explore this charming town on your own (summer time is opera season!)

Day 5

Depart to Valpolicella, Bardolino and Lake Garda

Head west to the town of Bardolino, which rests on the shore of Lake Garda. Plenty of opportunities now for wine tastings of the famous reds of the Valpolicella region, or shop in the authentic weekly market of lakeside Bardolino (Thursdays)

Day 6

Immerse in the Natural Beauty of Lake Garda 

​

Full day at your leisure to enjoy Lake Garda, framed by the Alps to the north and the Po River valley to the south. Suggest an excursion to Malcesine to ride the funicular up to the Monte Baldo and have lunch overlooking the mountains, or head north to Riva del Garda with hiking trails and more spectacular views

Day 7

Visit Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, then on to Venice

​

Drive east to Padua today for a guided visit to see Giotto’s magnificent frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel . PM explore the town on your own. Venice airport will be our destination to return your rental car, then transfer via boat ride to your hotel

Day 8

Admire the Beauty of Venice

​

Detailed private sightseeing through Venice this morning, including Piazza San Marco and the Basilica, Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Rialto Bridge. Free time to explore the City of Canals after your tour, perhaps a sunset gondola ride along the Grand Canal!?

Day 9

Free Day to Roam the City of Canals

​

Full day at your leisure to meander through La Serenissima and its canals, islands, shops and museums. A chance to spend the day on the lagoon islands with glass shopping on Murano, lace shopping on colorful Burano, or visit the Byzantine Chapel on Torcello. We also highly recommend visiting the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. A great place for fans of impressionism!

Day 10

Depart Venice

​

Transfer to the airport now for your home-bound flights.  Same-day arrival in the USA. Welcome home!

When should I go?

Asolo, Vicenza, Verona, Padova and Venice are suitable year-round destinations - other parts of Veneto are more subject to weather, especially Lake Garda.  Naturally we will consult with you to determine the ideal timing, and be aware that summertime crowds in Venice are legendary!
